UGC launches portal, helpline to address coronavirus-related issues of students

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched the grievance portal, a helpline quantity and an email address to solution queries and grievances of learners and teachers, related to problems that happen to be induced due to the coronavirus lockdown.

The grievance redressal portal could be accessed by logging in with Stakeholders may reach the dedicated helpline with 011-23236374 from 10 am in order to 5 pm or email regarding support at covid19help.ugc@gmail.possuindo.

A UGC committee, which usually had suggested a new academic diary, said all higher education institutes to set-up a COVID-19 cell for handling grievances of the learners related to examinations and other academic actions arising due to the pandemic.

As per the UGC regulations, the complaint from an aggrieved pupil relating to a college should be resolved to the collegiate student grievance redressal committee (CSGRC). It will consist of the main of the college as its chairperson plus three senior members of the training faculty to be nominated by the primary, and a representative from among learners of the college to be nominated simply by the
principal based on academic merit or even excellence in sports or efficiency in co-curricular activities as a specific invitee. The term of the members as well as the special invitee will be two years.

Similarly, a departmental-level committee (DSGRC) plus institute and university level committee will also be created. Each of these committees will have to work in the time-bound manner. Recommendations, if any kind of, need to be sent to the Vice-Chancellor from the affiliating university or head from the institute and a copy to the aggrieved student within a period of 15 times from the date of receipt from the complaint, state the norms.
