A TikTok user’s hack to milk cucumber is something quite familiar.
TikTok customers often share ingenious hacks for the kitchen make our day-to-day duties easier. There was a viral movie that showed us an easy technique to reseal a cereal package, and yet another that taught all of us how to chop onions in moments without tears. These tricks be useful when we are faced with some menial struggles in the kitchen. A TikTok tumblr recently came up with the hack associated with ‘milking’ cucumber before eating this, in order to rid the vegetable of its natural bitterness. Take a look:
The kitchen crack was uploaded by a user that goes by the handle ‘BasicallyPerkfect’ upon TikTok. The video struck a blend with thousands of users on the video-sharing application, garnering over 1 mil views and 100k likes. The girl shared it as a cooking key that her sister-in-law had informed her about, which would restore the quality in a cucumber and make it flavor sweet again.
The video demonstrated the process of cutting off the edge of the cucumber and then rubbing it with all the rest of the vegetable. Repeated rubbing within circular motions makes the ‘bitterness’ or maybe the ‘milk’ of the cucumber come out. The consumer called the milk ‘gross’ and ‘cheese-like’, making funny expressions while milking her cucumber.
This hack is nothing new for all of us, as we all have been taught this particular easy hack in order to get a cucumber to taste sweet again. Although the movie went viral on TikTok, this is a common trick used in many Indian native households. Just like the Dalgona coffee development which took social media by thunderstorm, Indians are proudly claiming the particular ‘Cucumber Milking’ trend as their personal – saying that they did it 1st.
