Five per cent of all set aside seats in undergraduate programmes associated with National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar will be earmarked for learners of Ladakh Union Territory, a good officials statement said on Sunday.
The Ladakh students will be accorded quota from within all set aside seats of the NIT-Srinagar from educational sessions 2020-21, it added.
As per the particular Registrar, the University of Ladakh, the Union Ministry of Human Useful resource Development has initiated a proceed to reserve five per cent seats in most undergraduate programmes of the NIT, Srinagar for eligible students of the LACE of Ladakh within the overall sampling seats of Jammu & Kashmir from the particular academic year 2020-21, the statement said.
The Center had revoked the special standing of Jammu and Kashmir below Article 370 associated with the Constitution and bifurcated it into two UTs of J&K and Ladakh a year ago.
